Through interactive discussions and practical activities, you will learn effective strategies to promote open communication, practice active listening, and create a supportive environment. We'll explore best practices for acknowledging and valuing the unique perspectives and needs of mentees from diverse backgrounds.

What expectations do you have of your mentee? Have you considered what expectations your mentee has of you? A mentoring compact is a tool for aligning expectations in a mentoring relationship.

During this workshop, we’ll introduce mentoring compacts by differentiating them from a lab manual, discuss how they can be very powerful for mentors and mentees, and begin creating a mentoring compact.

In this workshop, postdocs will develop an awareness of their own complex identities and consider how identity impacts mentoring relationships.

Research integrity is essential in any discipline. What ethical principles guide your work? How can you model ethical awareness for your mentee?

In this workshop, postdocs will consider ethical issues in research groups and discuss the crucial role of power dynamics and its potential to influence behavior.
