Improv for Communication I

Friday & Monday, December 7 & 10 (2 Days), 3:00pm-6:00pm

Improv for Communication uses techniques drawn from improvisational theater to develop communication skills that can be beneficial for collaboration, mentoring, day-to-day conversations, presentations, or job searches.

The Introduction for Postdoctoral Scholars series takes place over two days, held on Friday, December 7th and Monday, December 10th from 3pm-6pm. Participants must be able to attend both sessions.

Instructor:

Sleeping Better: Strategies to Optimize Your Sleep (and when to seek help)

Join Norah Simpson, Clinical Assistant Professor in the School of Medicine, in a discussion about optimal sleep.

Attendees will learn about sleep across the lifespan and common sleep disorders, as well as strategies to improve sleep and treatment resources (available at Stanford and beyond).

Time will be allotted for questions and general discussion. Please bring a lunch to this session.

Designing Your Postdoc

In this session, you'll have an opportunity to apply design thinking to your postdoctoral training and reflect on who you are, where you are going, and how you can get there.

You'll identify resources and plan to apply them to your training in the right place at the right time. The work we do together will support a thoughtful and balanced individual development plan.
