NPAW: National Postdoc Appreciation Week BBQ

Thursday, September 22, 4:30pm-6:30pm, Dean's Lawn

Come celebrate National Postdoc Appreciation Week (NPAW) with this Fall Festival and BBQ! OPA will be offering a delicious Famous Dave’s BBQ meal (vegetarian options also available) and SURPAS will be providing beverages.

There will be food, drinks, and a live band for everyone to enjoy!

Come join in on the fun, bring your family, and enjoy an evening out!

The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA) is hosting a gourmet espresso coffee cart on campus to kick off National Postdoc Appreciation Week!

Stop by for a coffee or tea; and if you're attending the NPAW BBQ and have already pre-registered, you can pick up your tickets early and avoid the lines later!

Professional & Academic Writing Fall

II: Professional & Academic Writing

Prerequisite: Oral Communication

Fall Session: Mondays, October 17 - November 28 (no class 11/21), 5:00pm-7:00pm

This  course on academic writing for publication focuses on learning to write coherently, clearly, and concisely. It will also include some practice in writing effective emails, letters, and short proposals. The course includes two 30-minute individual tutorials with the instructor.

Oral Communication Fall B

I: Oral Communication

Fall Session B: Monday, October 10 - Thursday, October 13, 4:30pm-6:30pm

Attendance is required ALL 4 Days

This course focuses on helping students improve their oral communication skills for academic and daily life. Emphasis is on increasing confidence and fluency through realistic activities both in and out of class covering pronunciation, idiom and slang usage, active listening skills, and conversation strategies.
