The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA) offers wellness programs for postdocs. Offerings from OPA vary across the year and are often also open to graduate students and staff.

Below find ongoing wellness activities and resources that are currently open to postdocs, as well as all upcoming OPA wellness programs.


Mental Health Resources for Postdocs:

Stanford Recreation & Wellness: 20 Minute Drop In Meditation

Stanford Recreation & Wellness: Online Fitness Classes
Monday-Friday, Times vary, via Zoom; Info & Register HERE
Stanford Recreation & Wellness is offering a series of online fitness classes to keep you moving during these tough times. Classes include: barre sculpt, yoga, core workouts and more!

OGE: Monday Unwind Yoga
Mondays, 5:00pm-5:30pm, via Zoom; Zoom Link HERE (password: unwind)
This live-streamed 30 minute practice will help you move your body to still your mind. By emphasizing the flow within each posture, this practice aims to bring depth to your breath and calm to your mind. Focus on releasing stiffness and tightness from sitting all day to reset for your evening.

ORL: Tuesday Evening Yoga
Tuesdays, 6:00pm, via Zoom; Info & Register HERE
Tuesday Yoga explores gentle movement, breath, and mindfulness to support sleep, healthful rest, and enhanced resilience. Minimal prop use is required to allow participants to do this practice at home. Roommates, partners, children, and pets are welcome!

ORL: Wednesday Morning Yoga 
Wednesdays, 9:00am, via Zoom; Info & Register HERE
This 1-hour therapeutic yoga class focuses on enhancing physical, emotional, and mental resilience. Minimal prop use is required, a mat and 2 blocks are recommended.

ORL: Thursday YogaX
Thursdays, 12:00pm, via Zoom; Info & Zoom Link HERE
This live-streamed class explores gentle yet dynamic movement, breath, and mindfulness to enhance resilience and increase capacity for managing stress.  Minimal props use is required to allow participants to do this practice at home. Roommates, partners, children, and pets are welcome!

FSHC: 1:1 Counseling Appointments

The Faculty Staff Help Center (FSHC) offers a variety of services for the Stanford community, including counseling sessions, which are entirely free to Stanford postdocs.

Mind Over Money: 1:1 Financial Coaching
Remote Coaching Appointments; Explore Coaches & Make an Appointment HERE
Financial coaching strives to help students and postdocs develop skills and behaviors they can improve upon independently over time. Coaching sessions are entirely free to Stanford students and postdocs. Mind Over Money also provides personal finance training with learning modules, recorded workshops, and budget templates.

National Emergency Library
To address our unprecedented global and immediate need for access to reading and research materials, the Internet Archive has temporarily suspended all waitlists, allowing people to immediately check out any of the 1.4 million books currently in their lending library. Until the end of the US national emergency (whichever comes later), every borrowable book will be immediately accessible by anyone -- creating, in effect, a National Emergency Library.
