Becoming a Resilient Scientist: NIH/OPA collaborative course

This event is part of series:

September 23, 2021 (All day) to December 1, 2021 (All day)
Hybrid online and in-person

Stanford's Office of Postdoctoral Affairs is collaborating with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Office of Intramural Training & Education (OITE)  to assist trainees in developing the resilience necessary to thrive in the science profession. Our program consists of a five-module webinar series and accompanying discussion groups. Participants completing all five modules in the Resilient Scientist Series (RSS) will receive a certificate of completion.

Data from a previous series suggests that participants' overall resilience, self-efficacy, self-awareness, and ability to shift and persist increased, while anxiety (non-clinical), depression (non-clinical), perceived stress, and presenteeism decreased. According to the NIH OITE, “these factors likely contribute to the perception (if not actual change) that they are becoming a better scientist and are dealing with stress and conflict better.”

We invite current Stanford graduate students and postdocs to participate in this exciting opportunity. The Fall 2021 RSS webinar schedule can be found below.
