May 27, 2025 - 12:00pm to 1:20pm
On Campus
Speaker(s):
Dr. Harriett Jernigan

Tuesday, May 27, 12:00pm-1:20pm, LKSC

Are you going on the faculty job market next fall? Now that universities are no longer asking for a Diversity Statement, you need to rethink your strategy for demonstrating who you are and what you care about.

This workshop will walk you through how to incorporate your story and your values into every aspect of your faculty job application materials.

Bring a draft of a cover letter, research statement, personal statement, and/or teaching philosophy statement to work on incorporating these elements with peers.

Harriett Jernigan is a lecturer in the Program in Writing and Rhetoric and the Coordinator for the Notation in Cultural Rhetorics. She is a writing consultant for the Hume Center for Writing and Speaking and conducts workshops on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the U.S. and abroad.
