Speaker(s):
Amanda Dudek and Debra Van Egeren

It is easy to get bogged down in the day to day of training a mentee to pipette, code, or do field work, but how can you be certain you are optimizing the professional development of all mentees with diverse career interests?

In this session, we will use the concept of an Individual Development Plan (IDP) to frame how we discuss, design, and implement intentionally designed career development goals for trainees with a variety of career paths or those who are undecided. We will discuss commonalities and differences in career development goals depending on the career path of interest, and leave with example IDP documents to help you shape your career development discussions with your current and future trainees.

Facilitators: Amanda Dudek and Debra Van Egeren, Postdoc Peer Mentoring Coaches

Mentoring Mondays are open to postdocs from all disciplines. Lunch will be provided.
