Giving clear and direct constructive feedback is essential for any mentoring relationship. However, many of us may be reluctant to give this kind of feedback, particularly when it is critical, because we are not trained on how to do it effectively.
In this session, you will cultivate your skills on how to clearly and respectfully provide constructive feedback by discussing with peers on what to do and avoid when giving feedback and by learning formal frameworks for providing constructive criticism.
Through this session, you will also become more comfortable applying these strategies in real-life situations by practicing sample scenarios. The skills you learn and practice in this session will be immediately applicable across your professional relationships with mentees, mentors, students, collaborators, and more.
Facilitators: Debra Van Egeren and Maria Jose Medrano Matamoros, Postdoc Peer Mentoring Coaches.
Mentoring Lunches are open to postdocs from all disciplines. Lunch will be provided.
