During this session, we will examine the definition of independence and how it evolves as the mentee progresses through their career. We will also explore differences in mentor-mentee definitions of independence using case studies, aiming to build mentee confidence and establish trust. To demonstrate the multifaceted nature of independence, mentors will identify both the benefits and challenges of mentoring an independent researcher.
Facilitators: Amanda Dudek and Samuel Montalvo, Postdoc Peer Mentoring Coaches.
Mentoring Lunches are open to postdocs from all disciplines. Lunch will be provided.
