Special Session: Open to postdocs who have completed the introductory level improv workshops.

Improv for Communication II will build upon the first 4-week improv session using techniques drawn from improvisational theater to focus on communication skills for mentoring, collaboration, day-to-day conversations, presentations and job searches.

This is a 2 week series -- participants must be able to attend BOTH sessions.

Instructor:

Annelies Ransome is the Associate Director for the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs at Stanford University. She performs with two improv groups and has studied improvisation with the Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science, Keith Johnstone, creator of TheaterSports™ and author of “Impro,” Patricia Ryan Madson, author of “Improv Wisdom,” BATS Improv and ComedySportz. Annelies received her BA from Georgetown University and was previously the Associate Dean for Faculty and Academic Affairs in the School of Engineering at Stanford University.
