If Not You Then Who: Overcoming Imposter Syndrome

August 12, 2025 - 12:00pm to 1:20pm
On Campus

Tuesday, August 12, 12:00pm-1:20pm, On Campus

As researchers, imposter syndrome can creep into various stages of our process - in discussions with peers and advisors, in proposing and designing our projects, in data collection - but perhaps no stage of the process elicits more of a sense of being discovered as a fraud as writing. Writing is when we set about communicating ourselves and our work - and it's supposed finality is part of why it makes us so vulnerable.

In this workshop, we'll emphasize revision and peer feedback in various stages of the research and writing processes as key interventions in combating imposter syndrome and regaining our sense of expertise, exploration, and esteem.

It's your work, and only you can write it! If you have a short piece of writing (perhaps an abstract or introduction) from your work that you'd like feedback on, please bring it to the workshop.
