Friday, August 14, 1:00pm-4:00pm, via Zoom

In this interactive and experiential session, we will examine how conversations become difficult when the stakes are high, emotions escalate and we fear damage to relationship or other negative consequences.  We will explore how to decide whether or not to engage in a difficult conversation, how to look for a beneficial purpose to frame a conversation more helpfully, as well as how to stop falling into the trap of avoiding difficult conversations that really matter.  Finally, we will discuss and practice mental preparation for and ways to engage in difficult conversations that make them more likely to be productive as well as how to try to rescue conversations that are going off track.
