Postdoctoral Fellow, Wang Laboratory

The laboratory of Dr. Taia Wang at Stanford University is recruiting a postdoctoral fellow to study human antibody biology.

We are an experimental, mechanism-driven discovery lab focused on identifying the organizing principles that govern antibody function in vivo. Our approaches combine in vivo and in vitro immunology and cell biology with biomechanical assays (e.g., shear force as a variable in antibody–Fc receptor interactions) and protein engineering to dissect how antibodies engage Fc receptors and drive protective versus pathogenic effector function.

The successful candidate will help shape their own project direction, with close guidance from Dr. Wang on experimental design, publication, and career development.

Core Responsibilities

Lead research projects investigating mechanisms of antibody effector function.
Apply a broad array of experimental approaches to test specific hypotheses.
Contribute to manuscripts and grant applications.
Mentor junior trainees and contribute to a collegial lab culture.

Required Qualifications:

Ph.D. and/or M.D. in an area relevant to cell biology and/or immunology, with a strong publication record.
Experience with in vivo models of cancer and/or infectious disease strongly preferred.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong communication skills.
