The Sinha Lab at Stanford University invites applications for a sponsored postdoctoral position. We seek highly creative and motivated scientists with a background in immunology, bioinformatics, and/or expertise in microbiome/metabolome studies.  The breath of the lab’s interests are wide. We have teams focused on identifying novel diagnostics/biomarkers using human samples. In addition, we have several prospective human studies assessing pharmacologic and dietary interventions (at early and later stages of completion) with both clinical outcomes and multi-omic outcomes aimed to identify microbial/metabolomic/immune signatures of patients more likely to respond to an intervention. We also have expertise in computational biology and bioinformatics and have made discoveries that are opening the door to possible new treatment approaches to diseases without therapies as well as ways to improve medical care using technology.  A recent example of our work can be found at Nature Medicine, (PMID: 41530382) and further information on our lab can be seen at https://sinhalab.stanford.edu/

Our main disease of interest is inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), both ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn’s disease (CD). In addition, we are also particularly interested in certain aspects of IBD such as stricturing Crohn’s disease, metabolic disorders/metabolic syndrome, and primary sclerosing cholangitis. While we do employ animal models, our preferred means to answer questions is through human studies, including novel methods to sample the intestine under physiologic conditions.
