We are looking for a motivated postdoctoral researcher to work on breast cancer progression in the West lab in the Department of Pathology at Stanford. Successful candidates will use a combination of spatial transcriptomics and highly multiplexed imaging to understand how precursors of breast neoplasia progress to invasive breast cancer. They will be part of an interdisciplinary team of pathologists, immunologists, and computer scientists. The project builds on our previous efforts to reveal biomarkers of in situ breast cancer progression (Strand et al., Cancer Cell, 2022; Risom et al. Cell, 2022, Qin et al, Cancer Research 2025). We do research at the forefront of spatial biology and offer training in human histology, statistics, omics data analysis, computer vision, grant writing, and scientific publishing.
1. A doctoral degree (PhD, MD, or equivalent) conferred by the start date.
2. Proficiency in R/Python.
3. Experience with spatial proteomic/transcriptomic data analysis.
4. Growth mindset and motivation to advance our understanding of breast cancer.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
