Important Info
Interested applicants should send the required application materials to Dr. Huang at ngantina@stanford.edu.
A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Ngan F Huang, Ph.D., Associate Professor in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Stanford University School of Medicine. We are interested in studying the role of cell-biomaterial interactions that 1) mediate differentiation of induced pluripotent stem cells into cardiovascular lineages, and 2) biomaterials that mediate transdifferentiation of somatic cells into cardiovascular lineage. In particular, we are interested in studying the role of extracellular matrix factors including substrate rigidity and ligand binding density in regulating these processes. The insights gained from these empirical studies will be paired with computational biology and machine learning to develop predictive AI models of how cells interpret and respond to the surrounding extracellular matrix.

We are looking for highly motivated postdoctoral candidates with a PhD in bioengineering deep knowledge in computational biology and machine learning.
- Candidates with a molecular biology or engineering degrees with experience in coding will also be considered.
- The successful candidate should have a good publication record, be experienced in computational biology, and have good scientific writing and oral communication skills.
- Experience with biomaterials and induced pluripotent stem cell culture are a plus.
