The Stanford Mineral-X seeks a highly motivated and skilled postdoctoral scholar to join our research project on optimization of critical minerals separation. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative and dynamic research environment at Stanford University, contributing to innovative solutions for a sustainable critical materials supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on the computational design and discovery of novel processing reagents for the selective separation and extraction of critical minerals.
- Develop and apply ab initio computations, molecular dynamics simulations, and machine learning models.
- Collaborate with other researchers within the group and external partners.
- Present research findings at conferences and publish results in peer-reviewed journals.
- Support mentorship of junior researchers and/or students.
- PhD in Computational Organic Chemistry or Computational Materials Science.
- Proficiency in programming (Python, Julia), and high-performance computing (provide evidence with specific examples)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with molecular design, surface and interface chemistry.
- Experience in interdisciplinary research or industry-academic collaborations.
