Pay Range: 
$78,000 – $82,000

The Ross laboratory at Stanford University is seeking a postdoc to extend recent findings on rejuvenating aged immune systems through stem cell modulation (Ross et al., Nature 2024).

The successful candidate will work on projects investigating mechanisms of hematopoietic stem cell aging and novel approaches to rejuvenate immune function. The Ross lab is situated within the Stanford University School of Medicine's Department of Radiation Oncology. The laboratory applies in vitro and in vivo experimental techniques to study normal and malignant stem cells in aging, cancer, and chronic disease. Individuals with backgrounds in stem cell biology, cancer biology, molecular biology, immunology, and bioinformatics are all welcome to apply. Lab techniques include mammalian cell culture, mouse models, standard molecular biology and biochemistry, FACS/flow-cytometry analysis, genetic manipulation of cells (e.g., CRISPR), and microscopy. Candidates with experience in computational analysis are encouraged to apply.

The position is available immediately and the start date is flexible. The position is initially for one year with possibility of renewal based on performance.

Required Qualifications: 
  • PhD and/or MD degree conferred prior to start date

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Candidates with expertise in Cancer Biology, Stem Cell Biology, Immunology, or relevant discipline with expertise in molecular and cell biology are encouraged to apply.

  • Basic to advanced experience with computational analysis and R/Python.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to work effectively with collaborating researchers.

  • Successful applicants will have a productive record of research and publications.
