The Bennett Lab in the Stanford University Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to join our research program. We are focused on generating data to inform how best emergency departments can most effectively contribute to ending multiple infectious disease pandemics. This includes particular interest in sexually transmitted infections (i.e., HIV and hepatitis C) and the medications used to both treat them. In particular, we are focused on exploring (1) the cost-effectiveness of geographically tailored screening strategies and (2) implementation considerations and policy impact surrounding implementing or expanding these programs.

This position is well suited for a candidate with strong quantitative skills, demonstrated expertise in economic analyses, and an interest in at least one of the following areas: infectious disease epidemiology, health economics, implementation science, emergency care, or  health policy.

The fellow will be expected to be able to conduct analyses independently, lead manuscripts, refine and extend existing models, contribute to grant proposals, proactively identify and collaborate with multidisciplinary investigators, and contribute to the mentorship and training of more junior leaners.

Required Qualifications:
  • Doctoral degree with quantitative training and demonstrated proficiency in economic analyses through peer reviewed publications (including works that are under review, in press, or published).
  • Strong coding skills in R, Python, or similar languages.
  • Excellent communication skills in English
Required Application Materials:
  • Cover Letter
  • CV
  • Two letters of recommendation
