We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral scholar in hematology, stem cell biology, and cancer biology to work in the laboratory of Professor Asiri Ediriwickrema in the Division of Hematology at Stanford University. This research opportunity will be focused primarily on the development and application of novel computational algorithms to analyze and integrate diverse omics datasets, including bulk and single-cell RNA-seq, ADT-seq, ATAC-seq, DNA-seq, and spatial transcriptomics in the study of human hematopoiesis and myeloid malignancies. The scholar will aim to identify biomolecular features of aging hematopoietic stem cells and cancer stem cells. The individual will work closely with experimental biologists to translate computationally-derived results into experimentally testable hypotheses and analyze the resulting data from the experiments.

Candidate must have a strong quantitative background, with a PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics or related field including bioengineering, computer science, statistics, or mathematics OR a strong background in gene engineering and functional interrogation of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells.

Strong knowledge in bioinformatics, machine learning, statistics and programming skills (R and Python) is preferred.

Record of peer-reviewed publications.

Knowledge in one or more of the following areas is desirable: single-cell profiling technologies, spatial omics data, immunology and cancer systems biology.

Experience with genomic engineering methods, stem cell culture, flow cytometry, and murine models is preferred.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams are essential.
