Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Psychometrics in Autism
The Stanford Autism Center is pleased to announce the availability of a mentored postdoctoral research fellowship in psychometrics and scale development. This position is being offered to well-qualified postdoctoral scientists interested in advancing human subjects research in the field of autism and related neurodevelopmental disorders. The ultimate goal of this postdoctoral training program is to support the development of the next generation of investigators whose research will help improve the lives of individuals with autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders. We are seeking applicants who have prior experience and interest in psychometrics and scale development.
The fellow will be mentored by Stanford, including Drs. Antonio Hardan, Jennifer Phillips, and Booil Jo, and will have mentoring access to have breadth of talented affiliated faculty members and consultants (e.g., Mirko Uljarevic, MD, PhD). Didactic and hands-on training in many theoretical and applied areas of research will also be available to support attainment of the training goals and Stanford University offers a rich postdoctoral training environment with unparalleled access to courses, workshops, and bootcamps in a wide range of topic areas. The competitive stipend has been adjusted for the cost of living in the Bay Area, and additional funds will be available to support training activities and pilot research. The position also includes health benefits, time off with pay, sick leave, and flex time to attend national conferences or participate in other training programs. - Previous research experience with autism and specifically psychometrics is desirable.
- In particular, the candidates should have demonstrable experience with latent variable approaches and proficiency in relevant statistical software (e.g., MPlus, R, or Stata).
- Applicants must have graduate training in psychology, neuroscience, medicine, or another advanced degree in a related discipline (Ph.D., Psy.D., M.D., or equivalent); and have completed all degree requirements prior to the start date.
