Does this position pay above the required minimum?: 
No. The expected base pay for this position is the Stanford University required minimum for all postdoctoral scholars appointed through the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs. The FY25 minimum is $76,383.

POSITION 1 

We seek highly motivated individuals with a strong foundation in molecular genetics and biochemistry to work on projects related to precision diagnostics for diabetes. Research will be focused on generating large maps of variant effects using disease relevant assays and state-of-the art micro-fluidic platforms developed at Stanford by the Fordyce lab. 

Individuals should have experience with molecular cloning, next generation sequencing, experience with enzyme kinetic assays is highly desired. Candidates should be team players who are prepared to work on collaborative projects and to work across the laboratories of Dr Gloyn and her collaborator Dr Polly M Fordyce in the Departments of Bioengineering and Genetics.    

Individuals should have an interest in precision medicine, human genetics and working at scale to deliver resources to understand protein function, clinical variant interpretation and molecular mechanisms for diabetes.

  • PhD in either -  Biochemistry  / Molecular Biology / Human Genetics / Bioengineering
