The Jagannathan Laboratory (https://med.stanford.edu/jagannathan-lab.html) has an open funded position for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow with an interest in human cellular immunology of malaria and clinical trials.  The postdoc training experience will involve working on samples collected from a soon to begin clinical trial in Ugandan children that we are leading that will test whether preventing early life malaria with highly effective antimalarial chemoprevention enhances childhood immune development.  We have a particular interest and expertise in how malaria shapes innate cellular immunity, and use a variety of approaches spanning multiparameter flow cytometry and CyTOF, transcriptomics, epigenetics, and functional studies.  There will also be opportunities to develop new lines of investigation commensurate with scientific interests, experience, and independence.

The Jagannathan Lab is located in the new Biomedical Innovations Building at Stanford University School of Medicine. We are active members of the Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Medicine, the Department of Microbiology & Immunology, and the Stanford Immunology program, participating in seminars and retreats. Stanford University offers a world-class academic environment with a vibrant and large community of postdoctoral fellows (http://postdocs.stanford.edu/).  We are located in Palo Alto, California, which has a beautiful mild climate year-round and abundant opportunities for outdoor recreation and cultural experiences, while being a within a short drive to San Francisco.
