We are currently developing a MRI compatible mock circulatory loop and cardiac phantoms to simulate common congenital heart defects. We will use integrated pressure and flow sensors to capture hemodynamic data and magnetic resonance velocimetry measurements to capture microscopic flow patterns (locations of stagnation & reverse flow and the shape of the jets). We will answer questions regarding cannulation strategies for patients with complex anatomies, ventricular assist device (VAD) approaches for a failing Fontan physiology and patient-VAD mismatches. We have secured 5-years of funding for this project, and are looking for a post doc to spearhead this effort.
- Completion of PhD, MD, or MD PhD training.
- Experience in prototyping and mechanical engineering is preferred.
- CV
- Cover letter (optional)
