Translational Postdoctoral Scholar for Multiparametric Ultrasound Tissue Characterization or Ultrasound-based Mechanotransduction
We are increasing ultrasound’s clinical impact as a bedside, inexpensive, radiation free and non-invasive imaging and therapeutic modality. To do so, we are introducing new state-of-the-art imaging technologies for targeted molecular ultrasound imaging and developing quantitative and machine learning approaches to mine unique ultrasound signals to answer pertinent medical questions. Special emphasis is put on imaging cancer including liver, pancreatic, and prostate cancer, as well liver diseases such as fibrosis, steatosis, and inflammation. Our mission is to integrate novel imaging and therapy strategies with ultrasound into multi-modal clinical protocols for improved patient management and care.
We are seeking candidates interested in developing translational ultrasound applications that include microbubble contrast agent fabrication, molecular microbubble development and imaging strategies, cell biology as well as direct pre-clinical imaging; candidates will be supported by several NIH grants in the Translational Ultrasound Lab @ Stanford. Given that there are parallel ongoing clinical studies, candidates should also be interested in being involved in clinical imaging. Candidates will be working with a team of scientists as well as collaborating with scientists in the SoM at Stanford to develop contrast and molecular ultrasound methods for imaging and enhancing cancer care.

Required Qualifications:

• PhD and/or MD in relevant field with demonstrated ability to work independently
• Cell culture and experience working with in vitro and ex vivo assays
• Experience with in vivo small animal imaging
Having at least one of the following specific experiences would be useful:
• Microbubbles and contrast enhanced/molecular ultrasound; fabrication/molecular conjugation techniques for microbubbles
• Pre-clinical ultrasound imaging or therapy
• Developing unique animal models of NASH or cancer, or the use of Immunotherapies in pre-clinical models
• Working with therapeutic transducers

Required Application Materials:
  1. An updated CV
  2. Complete contact information for three references
  3. Cover letter describing past research experience, career goals and future research interests
