Four Postdoctoral Positions, Stanford University, Earth System Science:
Tropical methane emissions and the Global Methane Budget
Stanford Earth Sciences (the Jackson lab) in the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability are hiring four full-time postdoctoral scientists to contribute to:
1) a new project quantifying tropical methane fluxes in Brazil, Peru, French Guiana, and Botswana as part of the FLUXNET-CH4 network we recently established, and 2) a new Global Methane Budget office for the Global Carbon Project.
Two postdocs on the tropical flux project will contribute to field and flux-tower measurements in tropical forests and wetlands with local partners and/or to overall data synthesis, analysis, and scaling of methane fluxes across the tropics.
Two additional postdocs will contribute to improving aspects of the Global Methane Budget . The project provides opportunities for collaboration and travel both domestically and internationally.
Stanford is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
Apply by Jan 10th, 2023, for full consideration. Applications will be reviewed as they are received.
We seek candidates with expertise in methane sources or sinks and measuring and scaling fluxes.
