Open postdoctoral research position in methane detection and mitigation
Post-PhD researcher desired to help lead methane emissions research efforts in Prof. Adam Brandt’s research group at the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability. Level of appointment and salary are flexible based on applicant experience. This position will focus on developing and leading field experiments and analysis of satellite detection technologies. We will develop a multi-year testing campaign to assess new satellite methane detection technologies in diverse environments around North America. This work will continue recent research focusing on large-scale testing of methane detection technologies (Sherwin et al. 2023, El Abbadi et al. 2023, Sherwin et al. 2023b, Rutherford et al. 2023). Responsibilities will include assisting graduate students in research and publications related to the project, management of experimental logistics, and publication and presentation of the research. This position will also involve budgeting and proposal development, as well as stakeholder interaction (funders, contractors, and teams participating in testing).
- Applicants should hold a PhD in a STEM field, with preference for applicants with experimental and/or field work experience.
