Be Your Own Advocate: Foundations for Collaborative Negotiation

At a time when resources and access are limited and team members have competing needs, the ability to advocate for yourself is extremely important. In this interactive and experiential session we will explore the competitive and collaborative tensions present in most negotiations or challenging conversations and develop tools for maximizing outcomes while respecting and maintaining healthy relationships.  Specifically, we will analyze and practice how to identify the underlying motivators of each of the parties involved and how to improve listening skills to build trust, gather information and promote willingness to cooperate.
