Does this position pay above the required minimum?: 
No. The expected base pay for this position is the Stanford University required minimum for all postdoctoral scholars appointed through the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs. The FY25 minimum is $73,800.

A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Department of Surgery at Stanford University. As part of the Asian Liver Center, our lab uses multidisciplinary approaches to identify and develop more efficacious methods for the diagnosis and treatment of liver cancer. We are particularly interested in molecularly targeted diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, with the goal of translating our research into clinically feasible solutions for liver cancer patients. Aligned with this goal, this position offers exciting opportunities to work with external collaborators to evaluate promising diagnostic probes and therapeutic agents, using cell-based models as well as patient-derived xenograft models of liver cancer. This position is suitable for a highly motivated self-starter who excels in a dynamic environment offering varied learning opportunities.

Required Qualifications: 
  • The candidate must have a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. with a focus on cancer biology, cell/molecular biology, or biochemistry.
  • Experience in animal tumor models and animal surgery are highly desirable.
  • Candidates should also have a strong track record of productive research and publications, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The candidate must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively to bring a project to fruition.
