Stanford I.D. CardsThe identification (I.D.) cards on the Stanford campus are picture I.D.s with magnetic strips. You can get your new Stanford I.D. cards at the following locations:
Remember to bring a photo I.D. with you such as a driver's license or passport to obtain your new Stanford photo I.D. You must be registered in order to get an I.D. card. Your department administrator can tell you when the appointment process is complete and you are registered. Please inform them that you are a Postdoctoral Scholar in order to receive the appropriate type of card. The card will say ‘Postdoctoral Scholar.’ For more information please review the Stanford Card Office web site. The spouse/domestic partner of a fellow may obtain a spouse/partner card at I.D. Card Office in the Encina Modulars. A spouse/partner needs to provide proof that their partner is a registered student (e.g., has an I.D. card). The spouse/partner card serves as a general Stanford I.D. card and entitles the spouse/partner to many of the rights and privileges of students, including library privileges and access to athletic facilities. With this card, for example, a spouse/ partner is eligible for student discounts on tickets to cultural and athletic events. A domestic partnership is defined as an established, long-term relationship with an exclusive mutual commitment in which the partners share the necessities of life and ongoing responsibility for their common welfare. In order to issue a spouse/partner card, the ID Card Office will require proof of long-term relationship/marriage.
