Faculty Sponsor's

A faculty sponsor inviting a postdoctoral scholar to Stanford must ensure adequate office/laboratory space. The sponsor is expected to discuss with the fellow a plan of research and goals for the period of training and to provide limited ongoing consultation.

Postdoctoral Scholar's

The postdoctoral scholar is expected to carry out the study or research outlined in discussions with the faculty sponsor, to keep in touch with the faculty sponsor, and to notify the sponsor of any change in plans. Where the scholar is paid from a contract or grant s/he is expected to work the number of hours which the appointment covers (normally 40 hours per week). The scholar is not expected to handle any administrative duties or to be on a dissertation reading committee of any graduate student.
