The Gawad works at the interface of biotechnology, computational biology, cellular biology, and clinical medicine to develop and apply new tools for characterizing genetic variation across single cells within a tissue with unparalleled sensitivity and accuracy. We are applying these technologies to study the clonal evolution of cancer to facilitate the identification of treatment-resistant genotypes as a means to better understanding and predicting treatment response, as well as to study the development of increased virulence and drug-resistance in bacteria and viruses.
- We are currently recruiting a postdoctoral fellow with a background in Materials Sciences that will develop novel high-throughput solutions for accurately sequencing the genomes of thousands of single cells in parallel using our novel whole genome amplification method.
- The position will require experience with or interest in learning single-cell genomics biochemical methods, as well as genomics computational tools in a high-performance computing environment.
