Postdoctoral positions are available in the Calvin Kuo laboratory at Stanford to apply next-generation organoid models that retain both epithelial cells and tissue-resident immune cells (Cell, 2018, PMID: 30550791) to study pathogen infections including SARS-CoV-2 (Nature, 2020, PMID: 33238290). The successful candidate will use such immune-epithelial hybrid organoid models to perform infection with bacterial and/or viral pathogens and analyze adaptive and innate immune responses. The successful candidate will perform BSL3 experimentation with SARS-CoV-2 as well as BSL2 studies with other pathogens and receive appropriate training.
