Improv for Communication uses techniques drawn from improvisational theater to develop communication skills that can be beneficial for collaboration, mentoring, day-to-day conversations, presentations, or job searches. 

The Introduction for Postdoctoral Scholars series is 3 weeks, held on Wednesdays 9am-11am. Participants must be able to attend ALL 3 sessions.

Instructor:

Annelies Ransome is the Associate Director for the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs at Stanford University. She performs with two improv groups and has studied improvisation with the Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science, Keith Johnstone, creator of TheaterSports™ and author of “Impro,” Patricia Ryan Madson, author of “Improv Wisdom,” BATS Improv and ComedySportz. Annelies received her BA from Georgetown University and was previously the Associate Dean for Faculty and Academic Affairs in the School of Engineering at Stanford University.
