Stanford University welcomes you as does the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs. There are many resources available to you, and we hope that this website is your introduction to some of what is offered. The purpose of our office is to ensure that:
- postdoctoral scholars are properly appointed as students in advanced training, paid according to established guidelines, and have their training experiences appropriately documented and verified;
- incoming postdoctoral scholars are familiar with institutional policies and procedures, and provided with accurate and timely information about benefits eligibility and requirements for enrollment;
- established postdoctoral scholars are provided with the latest information, application instructions, award administration and tracking for annual intramural fellowship awards;
- postdoctoral scholars are provided with support toward career progress through professional development and skill-building programs; and
- faculty and staff involved with appointing postdoctoral scholars are provided with information, support and training for managing appointments and training experiences in agreement with institutional goals, objectives, policies and regulatory requirements
Most importantly, we consider ourselves your advocates.
We look forward to welcoming you in the office and offer an orientation for new scholars every Thursday at 9:00 a.m. And be sure to add yourself to the Stanford University Postdoc Association (SUPD) e-mail distribution list, so that you can receive timely announcements from us.
