Women in Medicine

The Katherine McCormick Fund to support women in medical careers provides support to postdoctoral fellowships and travel grants annually to men or women pursuing careers in academic medicine at Stanford University, School of Medicine (SOM). Fellowship awards will be made for one-year postdoctoral fellowship support to candidates who possess a MD and/or PhD. Awards are typically $15,000, plus an optional travel supplement of $1,000 (travel supplement may be changed to fellowship funding at the end of the fellowship, upon request). Travel grants support registration, accommodation and airline expenses for attending scientific, educational or professional meetings and will be awarded to male or female postdoctoral research scholars.

The Henzl-Gabor Postdoctoral Travel Grant is open to currently appointed Postdoctoral Research Scholars in the School of Medicine and School of Humanities & Sciences who have demonstrated a positive attitude through professional teamwork and collaborations of men and women to help with their travel: airline tickets, accommodations, and registration expenses for participation at scientific conferences. These awards are meant to help defray the costs of attending a national or international meeting.
