for Postdocs ONLY
First submit a complete appointment packet for University or Med School scholars to the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs at least eight weeks prior to appointment start date. Immediately following submission of appointment packet to the Office of Postcoctoral Affairs, complete the internet request for the J-1 on the Bechtel International Center web site (DS-2019). It will automatically route to postdocaffairs@stanford.edu for approval. Note that Bechtel International Center will return any visa requests not routed through the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs.
- Log on to the Internet.
- Go to site http://icenter.stanford.edu/depts/j_status.html.
- Click on the postdoctoral scholars link to access the request form.
- Carefully fill in the blanks, checking date of birth and spelling of the machine-readable text on the passport.
- After completing the form, click the SEND button. The form will be routed to the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs. Our office will approve the request and forward to Bechtel within ten working days. Bechtel International Center requires that DS-2019 forms are submitted to their office at least six weeks prior to program start date.
