H-1B VisasHow to Petition for an H-1B VisaStanford University's official representative for processing visa requests for postdoctoral scholars is the Bechtel International Center. In collaboration with the Bechtel International Center, the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs reviews and approves all H-1B visa applications for postdoctoral scholars. H-1B visas are viewed as exceptions in the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs as the J1 visa is the preferred visa of postdoctoral scholars. Petitions for H-1B visas for postdoctoral scholars originate in the sponsoring department and must be reviewed in OPA before advancing to in the Bechtel International Center.
