The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs moved to PeopleSoft Web Forms as of August 12, 2011. This process replaces the submission of appointments, extensions, funding changes, leave requests and other transactions which were done via paper forms and email. The new system uses Workflow and a security setup that is akin to what is in place for other PS modules. All campus staff users require prior training in order to receive authority to access the system.
Why did we do this? View a presentation of the project scope and rationale.
Required PeopleSoft Training:
University staff who administer postdoctoral scholar paperwork are required to complete PeopleSoft and policy training before receiving PeopleSoft access.
The required training is:
- "PeopleSoft Concept and Compliance" (online course)
- “PD Webforms Systems Training” (Register through STARS for classroom session; online availabile in the future)
All postdoctoral administrators will be required to attend one classroom training in order to receive certification of completion of the required training. After Go-Live, administrators may complete the training by following the information on the PeopleSoft Learning Center for the two requirements.
PD Webforms Training (now includes "Working in Web Forms" information):
Please sign-up for the required OPA PS training – “PD Webforms Systems Training” – if you will be in either Role #1 or Role #2 for your area. Dates and registration in STARS.
Postdoctoral Policies and Proceedures Course: dates and registration in STARS.
Open Labs:
For anyone who needs a little one-on-one help with a question or problem they are having with the new Postdoc module in PeopleSoft and/or GFS. The labs are an unstructured format; first come, first served, and will be staffed by OPA and GFS. Please bring your real work with you to get help in real-time.
